How do you damage your hair everyday?

We’re all guilty of this: We spend hundreds (and even thousands) on hair products and tools thinking it will help our hair in some way. Whether we want to soften, de-frizz, or get thicker hair, we expect these products or tool will do the trick.

Unfortunately, it’s not always the case. The problem is, while you’re buying the right products for your hair, without the proper hair care regime, you may actually be doing more harm than good.

Are you ready to get rid of some bad hair habits?

1. Your brushes and combs need a good cleaning too!  Your hair tools, especially brushes and combs are a good breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Make sure to the clean out all hair strands regularly, and deep clean your brush every month with warm water.

 2. Stay Away from using too many chemicals.

Artificial chemicals are bad for your hair along with the rest of the body. Keep chemical processes, and treatments at a minimum, your hair & scalp will thank you for it.

Tip: Try using a root concealer to cover up roots, just so you won’t have to get your hair colored as often.

3. Don’t go too long without a haircut

Healthy hair requires regular maintenance. Regular visits to the salon will make sure that hair is at tiptop shape – no split ends! We all know split ends move up to the hair shaft, which eventually leads to weakened hair strands and even hair thinning! We don’t want that…

4.Brushing your wet hair vigorously

Here’s the thing, stop brushing your hair vigorously – wet OR dry. Second, brush your hair ever so gently after you shower as each cuticle stretches up 50% of its original length when wet. This makes the hair strands more susceptible to breakage. Use a wide-tooth comb when brushing through wet hair.

5.Using too many products on your hair can cause a lot of problems.

Having too many products on your hair can cause build up and strip your hair of its natural oil. Too many products on, can also weigh your hair down too, especially for those with thinning hair.

6.Heating Tools can cause split ends and thinning hair too.

Heat styling tools put your hair at risk, especially at the highest setting. To protect your hair, make sure to set the temperature below 220 celsius. As an extra layer of protection, try using heat protectant products that will shield your hair from further damage and frizz.

7.Wash your hair after every workout

Sweat blocks moisture from getting to the strands and cause hair to dry out. By washing your hair after going to the gym, it cleans out the dirt, oil and sweat
